DAY 1: HANOI – HA GIANG (L/D)
Depart Ha Noi capital by road this morning for the start of your adventure. The drive to Ha Giang takes around 7 hours but is some of the most breathtaking scenery in Vietnam tour and along the way you will stop as often as you like to visit small villages and take photos.
This offers us ample opportunities to meet the locals and learn about their way of life. As the day progresses, we drive to various walking trails surrounded by magical hills and beautiful villages.
Around sunset, we arrive at the township of Ha Giang. After the long drive, stretch your legs with a short walk around Ha Giang to a Tay village, set in a picturesque valley near town. Overnight in Ha Giang.
DAY 2: HA GIANG – QUAN BA – DONG VAN (B/L/D)
08:30am: After breakfast at a local restaurant, we'll leave Ha Giang Town. From Ha Giang to Dong Van, the road gets smaller and steeper, the air gets fresher and the scene is just unreal! We'll stop at Quan Ba Gateway to Heaven and other places ensure you have the full photo collection of this fabled world.
Lunch at Yen Minh.
From Yen Minh to Meo Vac, road gets steeper and the mountains show a single color of black rocks. At Meo Vac, we'll have some time walking around the town and get to know the daily life of the communities here by visiting a H'mong Village. Then continue our adventure over the challenging Ma Pi Leng Pass into the fabled world of Dong Van. We'll need a couple of hours at Ma Pi Leng to get your camera stuffed with the sublime and unrivaled beauty of the pass before rolling our way down hill to Dong Van Town. Arriving at Dong Van in late afternoon, have free time for the remainder of the day.
Overnight at Dong Van Town, in the heart of the Rock Plateau.
DAY 3: DONG VAN - LUNG CU - TAM SON (B/L)
Get up early in the morning to try the hot local coffee at antique coffee shop in near the market. Leave Dong Van for a 1-hour spectacular drive to Lung Cu, the northernmost point of Vietnam. Discover the diversity of the north with a visit to the local market where hilltribes from around the region come to trade their wares, stop at a palace of a former H'mong King. The Vuong Family was considered the “King of the H'mong People” in Dong Van and the building once home to their family was built with slabs of rock only. Continuing taking a walk through Pho Bang town whose lanes are filled with traditional Chinese-style houses. Continue to Tam Son arriving late this afternoon. Overnight in Tam Son (Yen Minh/Quan Ba).
DAY 4: YEN MINH – HA GIANG – HA NOI (B/L)
Looping back to Hanoi, this full day of driving first takes you over the Tam Son Valley where, should you wish, you can take a short trek to a H'mong village.
